Nick Higham talks to Alexander McCall Smith, best known for The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series. The author talks about his reworking of Jane Austen's classic, Emma. McCall Smith's work is the third instalment of a six-book series of Austen rewrites, following Joanna Trollope's version of Sense and Sensibility and Scottish crime writer Val McDermid's interpretation of Northanger Abbey.
