Clemency Burton-Hill begins a two week series showcasing the 大象传媒 Radio 3 New Generation Artists.

As part of the 大象传媒's commitment to developing and nurturing young talent, 大象传媒 Radio 3 launched its New Generation Artists scheme in the autumn of 1999. Now well into its second decade, the scheme has acquired the reputation of being a world leader for young artists. Every autumn six to seven artists or groups who are beginning to make a mark on the international music scene are invited to join. Opportunities include concerts in London and around the UK, appearances and recordings with the 大象传媒 Orchestras, special studio recordings for Radio 3, and, for some, appearances at the Proms.

Today music by Mozart, Schubert, Shostakovich and Dvorak. Louis Schwizgebel became internationally known in 2012 when he won 2nd prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition. Olena Tokar won the Grand Prix at the most prestigious singing competition of the Ukraine in 2008 and is a permanent ensemble member of the Leipzig Opera. Narek Hakhnazaryan was propelled on to the international scene in 2011 when he won the Cello First Prize and Gold Medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition; and the quartet, Apollon Musag猫te, established itself after wins at international competitions in Vienna and Florence - the members have developesd a reputation for working with and commissioning new works from living composers.
