Adam Walton discusses the rise of computer coding, and the growth of "hands on" expertise with computer technology. As coding comes to the classrooms of England - and with Wales likely to follow in the next couple of years, Science Cafe this week explores the history of home and classroom computer programming from the landmark 大象传媒 Micro through to the Raspberry Pi.

Adam is joined by Professor Vic Grout, Head of Computing Futures at Glyndwr University in Wrexham and Dr Tom Crick of Cardiff Metropolitan University who discuss their own experience of computer technology; the changing technology landscape and the growing importance of a knowledge of coding.

We also hear from Stuart Ayres, a computer science teacher at St Brigid's School in Denbigh, and also the director of Anyworld, which aims to inspire young people to love technology and science, and encourage creative computer programming.
