Broadcasters say the political TV debates ahead of the general election will happen regardless of whether any party leader refuses to take part.

Broadcasters are warning party leaders that the TV debates ahead of the general election will still take place even if certain leaders refuse to take part. The 大象传媒 and ITV say their TV debates will now include all 7 party leaders, from the Conservatives, Labour, the Liberal Democrats, UKIP, the Greens, the SNP and Plaid Cymru. Plus, flags have been flying at half mast in Whitehall and at Westminster Abbey, following the death of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia; a move that hasn't been universally welcomed. The leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland says the decision is "a steaming pile of nonsense". And, we hear from a woman who returned from holiday to find her cat had been stuck up the chimney for 6 weeks without food or water, but managed to make a miraculous recovery.
