It costs 拢10m per patient and it's been given the go-ahead top be made available on the NHS by National Institute for Health Care and Excellence (NICE). A leading forensic psychiatrist has condemned prison treatment programmes for sex offenders saying they don't work and could be putting the public at risk. Since 1991 Sexual Offender Treatment Programmes or SOTPs have been offered to sex offenders. It's a talking therapy and if completed it can help in parole hearings to secure release from prison. And the minister for disabled people Mark Harper faces MP's to defend the government's troubled record on a new disability benefit - the personal independence payment, or PIP.
