The Fish Ladder by Katharine Norbury
Jenni talks to debut author Katharine Norbury about her book ‘The Fish Ladder’ – a story told through landscape of two searches: the first, to trace a river from the sea to its source, the second, to find her birth mother. Abandoned as a baby in a Liverpool convent, but subsequently raised by loving adoptive parents, Katharine grew up to be a wanderer of the outdoors. One summer, following a miscarriage, Katharine sets out with the idea of following a river from the sea to its source. What begins as a diversion from grief evolves into a journey to the source of life itself, to find the woman who abandoned her at birth.ÌýÌý
