Labour will reduce the cap on tuition fees in England if it wins the next election saying it is a 'non-negotiable commitment' which would last the entire parliament.
The Labour leader Ed Miliband says his party will cut the current cap on tuition fees from nine thousand pounds to six thousand pounds, paying for it by a reduction in tax relief on the pension contributions of high earners. Meanwhile the Prime Minister has defended the actions of the security services amid accusations they failed to stop Mohammed Emwazi - the man previously known as Jihadi John from travelling to Syria to join Islamic State. And tributes to the American actor, Leonard Nimoy - best remembered for his role as Mr Spock in Star Trek who's died at the age of 83.
