Nikolai Demidenko joins the 大象传媒 NOW for Tchaikovsky's thrillingly romantic First Piano Concerto. Little did Tchaikovsky know, when composing its recognisable opening chords, that he'd created a work that would become the first classical piece to sell a million records.
Shostakovich's Tenth Symphony is considered by most to be a depiction of Stalin's rule of Russia. It is testament to the composer's legacy of music that chronicles one of the most turbulent reigns in recent history, inspiring in its ability to find optimism in the bleakest of situations.
