Heart Transplant Special
Live from Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a leading UK heart transplant centre. Plus poetry exams, no Labour-SNP election deal and Gus Poyet sacked by Sunderland.
Dan Walker presents live from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, meeting patients, surgeons and donor families behind the scenes at one of the country's most important heart transplant centres.
Among his guests: heart surgeon Neil Howell explains what goes on in theatre; patient Ian describes the impact of having an LVAD heart pump fitted; and in a moving interview the mother of a three year old girl who took the difficult decision to donate her daughter's organs after death explains the emotional process involved.
Plus: the poets up in arms over changes to English literature examinations; Ed Miliband rules out a formal Labour-SNP coalition in the event of a hung parliament; and reaction to the sacking of Gus Poyet by relegation-threatened AFC Sunderland.
