Naomi Long MP
Naomi Long is the deputy leader of the Alliance Party and the party’s first MP to sit in Westminster. She defeated the DUP’s Peter Robinson to win the East Belfast seat he had held for 31 years. She was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly as MLA for East Belfast in 2003, and served as Lord Mayor of Belfast from 2009 to 2010. Before entering politics she was an engineer.Â
Conor Murphy MP
Conor Murphy is the MP for Newry and Armagh, having been elected to the seat in 2005. He was MLA for the same constituency and served as the Minister for Regional Development from 2007 to 2011. A former republican prisoner, he was born in Newry and is an avid Armagh GAA fan. He’s also a keen cyclist, having cycled the length of Ireland for charity.Â
Tom Elliot MLA
Tom Elliott is a former leader of the Ulster Unionist Party and is an MLA for Fermanagh & South Tyrone. He is the Ulster Unionist Party spokesperson for Justice and a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee. Prior to entering elected politics, Tom spent eighteen years as a part-time member of the Ulster Defence Regiment and the Royal Irish Regiment.
Colum Eastwood MLA
Colum Eastwood was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2011 and is an SDLP MLA for Foyle. He was a Shantallow councillor from 2005 until 2011 and at the age of 27, in 2010, was appointed Derry’s youngest ever Mayor. He sits on the Northern Ireland Assembly's Environment Committee and is Private Secretary to the Minister of the Environment Mark H Durkan. He is a keen Derry City fan.Â
