Family lawyers say new rules requiring mediation before getting a divorce are failing to stop couples ending up in court.

It's a year since rules changed in England, requiring couples to mediate before seeking a divorce, and family lawyers say the new system has become nothing more than a box ticking exercise. Peter speaks to people who've experienced mediation, and the charities trying to support couples through a difficult time. He also hears the story of one family who fled Syria to come to Europe, and asks 'how do you build a coalition?' with the man at the heart of the 2010 negotiations.
