Stress and burnout can affect anyone, but particularly members of the caring professions, subject as they are to enormous pressures, high expectations and the strain of dealing with harrowing revelations. 聽Faith leaders are no less susceptible to these pressures than other caring professionals, and to help the clergy in Wales a new counselling service has been inaugurated this month.聽聽
Roy Jenkins discusses with a panel of guests the issue of stress, and the question of who cares for the carers? His guests include Clive Wolfendale, former policeman and current chief executive of the North Wales counselling charity CAIS, Peter Stevenson of South Wales Baptist College, Canon Professor Leslie Francis, an expert on clerical burnout and GP Dr Marina Arulanandam.
