Young Artists Day: The Roundhouse, London
To celebrate Radio 3's Young Artists Day, Sean Rafferty presents a special programme live from the Roundhouse in London.
Sean Rafferty is joined by young musicians, writers and radio producers under the age of 25 to celebrate Radio 3's Young Artists Day. They share the stage in front of an audience at London's legendary Roundhouse in a special In Tune dedicated to young artists.
Carnival band Kinetika Bloco open the show to create a festival atmosphere for the bank holiday, they're joined by the Roundhouse Choir who will perform a folk tinged selection of works. Roundhouse Artist Jess Carmody has reworked a song by Elizabeth Maconchy and the award winning Artesian Quartet from the Royal Academy of Music perform works by Haydn, Wolf, Britten, Beethoven and Soler.
Alongside the live music, Catherine Brinkworth and James Hunter have produced two radio features exploring different aspects of classical music.
