He also selects another piece of Crucial Vinyl from his album collection, features three key tracks from it, explains how it first came across it and why it means so much to him. This week it's Al Green's sixth album 'Call Me', released in 1973.
Don says, "Without a doubt one of the best soul albums ever made, Al Green's 'Call Me' spawned a string of hits back in the early seventies: 'You Ought to Be with Me' - 'Here I Am (Come and Take Me)' and of course 'Call Me (Come Back Home)'. To my mind, it would be hard to find an artist that could cram more emotion onto a piece of vinyl - truly one of the last great surviving soul singers.".
