The Trust funds British people to travel overseas on a project of their choosing. The new knowledge and ideas they accrue are brought back for the benefit of communities across the UK.

Ann鈥檚 Fellowship story
Ann鈥檚 husband, Andrew, was unexpectedly diagnosed with vascular dementia at the age of fifty eight, shortly after they retired to the remote Scottish Highlands. With no support, she realised just how isolated they were. People found the subject difficult to broach, and they faced challenges and stigma. Ann applied for a Churchill Fellowship so that she could study community-based care for dementia in Goa, which led to her being invited to join the Prime Minister鈥檚 rural dementia communities鈥� task group, and to join the Board of NHS Highland.
