Runner Dr Andrew Murray joins Gillian Russell to find out how to best prepare for exercise in Scotland's ever-changing weather!

Running legend Dr Andrew Murray joins Gillian Russell to look at how to best prepare for keeping fit whatever the weather. Inspired by the story of Jo Hill, who's big ambition is to run the Spitzbergen marathon just 500 miles from the North Pole and the challenges the climate may throw at her, Personal Best this week explores how to factor in Scotland's ever changing climate when you're trying to keep active.

What burns up more energy, exercising when you're too hot or too cold? How much do you have to worry about the weather when you're keeping fit in Scotland?

And we'll be looking at the latest in design technology behind the specialist sports clothing aimed at runners, walkers and cyclists who brave the elements because, let's face it, if you're saving yourself for fair-weather fitness in Scotland you're going to spend most of the year indoors! So does the high-tech gear really make any difference, is it value for money or would most of us find just an extra layer or two does the same job?
