Stories
´óÏó´«Ã½ Music Day
Rap duo Adam and Kid are used to transforming young lives through hip-hop, RnB and soul. But now they’re doing a different kind of transforming. They’re teaming up with Hinde Street Methodist Church in London and giving a 100-year-old hymn their own musical makeover. The Methodist congregation and their organist are ready to give this musical experiment a go, as different cultures and generations come together in music. Watch a unique performance of Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer for the first time on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Songs of Praise.
Compton Hospice Choir
A hospice is not a place you¹d normally associate with singing. But Compton Hospice in Staffordshire likes to do things a little differently. The choir there is made up of people who either work with the patients or who have grown to admire the work of Compton through their own personal encounters. Jayne Cole suffered the double tragedy four years ago of losing her mother and her husband within weeks of each other. Jayne has now found happiness again and is getting married - and providing the music on her big day, of course, will be Compton Hospice choir.
Singing Pilgrims
The Singing Pilgrims are Guy Hayward and Will Parsons and their mission is to revive British Pilgrimage – with song. On this pilgrimage they walked 200 miles from St Mary’s Church in Willesden, London to Walsingham Abbey in Norfolk, visiting churches and Holy sites on the way. They also recorded themselves performing songs in many of the sites they visited. We filmed them in Thetford Forest on the Norfolk/Suffolk Border close to Santon Downham.
