Mary Portas sits in for Jo Whiley and chats to Editor-in-Chief of Elle UK, Lorraine Candy about her life in fashion and passion for music. Mary also talks to Lorraine about the intrinsic relationship between fashion and music, from the catwalks to high street shops. They also discuss the image and style of musicians, such as David Bowie, who can have a huge impact on the world with both their music and fashion. Mary will also be delving into her extensive 'Vintage Vinyl' collection to dig out some classic records to play on the turntable in the studio.
With a long successful career in retail, Mary has worked for some of the biggest brands in fashion and is a self-confessed music fan. Some of her favourite artists are Mark Bolan, David Bowie and Simple Minds.
