Signs For Lost Children By Sarah Moss

Sarah Moss joins Jane to discuss her new novel Signs for Lost Children.听Although a standalone novel the book picks up where Moss鈥檚 previous work, Bodies of Light, ended. Set in the 1880's it follows Ally and Tom - a newly married couple separated by Tom鈥檚 work in Japan as a lighthouse engineer - as Ally, a doctor, remains in Cornwall working in Truro Asylum. Sarah talks to Jane about the pioneering female doctors of the nineteenth century, why the Victorian asylum might not be as bad as we think, and why she finds the blurred lines between madness and sanity in women endlessly fascinating.
