Dylan Goes Electric

Huey Morgan celebrates Bob Dylan's famously divisive concert at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, during which he played with a full electric band.

On this day in 1965, Bob Dylan went on stage at The Newport Folk Festival and divided the crowd by playing with a full, electric band. Huey celebrates that infamous occasion.

Huey will be playing the tracks that marked Dylan's transformation from acoustic folk troubadour, to rock and roll star, and lead to the creation of one of the greatest band's in history, The Band.

Huey will also delve into the 大象传媒 archives to bring some context to that most polarising of performances at Newport in 1965, and find out how it's effects rippled through music. After that, nothing was the same again.
