Let's Do A Triathlon (By Way Of Song)

As triathletes swim, bike and run their way around London this weekend, Cerys celebrates sporting endeavours with themed tunes from Ann Peebles, Thin Lizzy, Acholi Machon and more.

The London Triathlon's happening today, the biggest mass-participation triathlon in the world. And, whilst this show's on air, athletes of all abilities will be swimming, biking and running their way around London.

Cerys is cheering on these sporting endeavours with themed tunes from the likes of Ann Peebles, Thin Lizzy, Sam Cooke, Acholi Machon and Peggy Seeger. So, why not sit back and relax, whilst the lyrics do all the hard work.

She also takes a look at some of the other (slightly less sporty) activities that you can get involved with around the UK this weekend, including the Moffat Sheep Race, an annual event during which Dumfriesshire ewes, ridden by knitted 'jockeys', are raced through Moffat town centre "for the pure and simple joy of it".

Cerys also takes a trip to the Curiosity Shop, reads some poetry from Sarah Howe. And, in the final hour, we'll take a closer look at the music of The Modern Lovers, celebrating the band's driving force Jonathan Richman in the Big Three.
