Farming Today This Week: Tupping Time
With low prices in the sheep sector, Charlotte Smith visits Gloucestershire Sheep Fair to gauge the farmers' confidence as they plan their flock sizes for 2016.
With persistently low prices characterising the UK sheep sector this year, Charlotte Smith visits Gloucestershire Sheep Fair's autumn sale of rams and ewes to gauge the farmers' confidence, as they plan their flock sizes for 2016.
She speaks to auctioneer Chris Voyce in Cirencester as he dashes between the pens, jostling with hundreds of sheep that are up for sale. Business is brisk, and sheep producers are quietly optimistic, explaining that they take the long view, acknowledging that prices are cyclical.
Produced by Mark Smalley.
