Ospreys, Polecats ... and a tiny rare Orchid

Every year at about this time, the Wildlife Trust, in partnership with聽National Museum Wales, organise a conference with the purpose of shining a light on the lesser known, but still important, stars of Welsh nature.

This year, the Conference will be held on Saturday 3rd October at the museum in Cardiff, with subjects ranging from聽Ospreys to Fen Orchids, Cave Shrimps to Polecats.

The conference will conclude with a talk by palaeobotanist Professor Dianne Edwards CBE, a Fellow of the Royal Society, former President of the Linnean Society and one of Wales's foremost natural scientists.

It's open to the public and to whet your appetite, Adam Walton talks to some of the conference speakers in this week's programme.聽 And reporter Jason Phelps goes underground to explore the hidden wildlife of聽the limestone caves in the Swansea Valley.聽聽
