Ten Pieces Special
Suzy Klein presents a special Ten Pieces edition live from Thomas Tallis School in Blackheath, London, with the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra, baritone Roderick Williams and DJ Mr Switch.
Building on the success of 大象传媒 Music's Ten Pieces for Primary, which has already engaged more than half of UK primary schools, the 大象传媒 is extending the initiative to secondary schools, aiming to open up the world of classical music to children aged 11 and above, inspiring them to respond creatively to the repertoire.
In this special edition of In Tune, live from Thomas Tallis School in Blackheath, London, Ten Pieces Ambassador Suzy Klein welcomes guests including fellow-ambassadors baritone Roderick Williams and DJ Mr Switch, as well as the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell, and pianist Iain Burnside. They will all be performing live in the school hall for an audience of school children, some of whom will also have the chance to perform alongside the orchestra in some of the Ten Pieces, including the Mambo from Bernstein's West Side Story.
Other live performances include Vaughan Williams's The Lark Ascending, and a concerto for turntables and orchestra by Gabriel Prokofiev, featuring Mr Switch.
