Ghostpoet joins Lauren with live music ahead of the Mercury Prize announcement on Friday.

Having been nominated for his first album, and having sat on the judging panel last year, it's safe to say South London's Obaro Ejimiwe has more experience of the Mercury Prize than most. This year, he's back on the receiving end of the attention with his third album, Shedding Skin, which came out in March.

Unlike with previous albums, Shedding Skin was recorded with a traditional live set up. The musicians used would become Ghostpoet's touring band. They blew us away when they dropped in for a session earlier this year, and we're delighted to welcome them back to the studio now, ahead of the announcement of this year's Mercury Prize in association with 大象传媒 Music.
