Farming Today This Week: Livestock Rustling
A look at how farmers are working with police and other organisations to tackle the growing problem of organised livestock rustling.
Charlotte Smith is on a farm in Gwent to discuss what farmers can do to protect themselves against the growing threat of organised livestock rustling. According to NFU Mutual around 90,000 animals were stolen last year, costing farmers 拢6.6 million. Caz Graham hears about a scheme in Lancashire which brings farmers, police and auction marts together; we ask where the stolen meat ends up; and Charlotte meets a farmer who's invested in CCTV cameras. Produced by Sally Challoner.
