Don says, "This record is recognised as a classic from the golden age of hip-hop. Eric B's heavy and inventive sampling coupled with Rakim's pioneering 'internal rhymes' style (basically rhyming within a sentence as opposed to just at the end) proved to be a game-changer influencing countless hip-hop artists that followed in their wake.".
