Trumpeter Laura Jurd, the current 大象传媒 Radio 3 New Generation Jazz Artist, performs in a duo setting with pianist Elliot Galvin recorded at the 2015 London Jazz Festival. Sebastian Scotney takes a look at four places in the UK that have produced more than their fair share of top jazz musicians. Jurd is a multi-award winning artist; in 2015 she won the Parliamentary Jazz Award for 'Instrumentalist of the Year', has previously been shortlisted for a BASCA British Composer Award, and she received the Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition and the Worshipful Company of Musician's Young Jazz Musician of the Year award.
