Culture Clash with Odelay

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre and include Crucial Vinyl from Beck.

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre and include Crucial Vinyl from Beck.

Each week, as well as picking key new releases and classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica and beyond, Don highlights a cherished album from his own collection. He explains why it means so much to him and features three key tracks. This week it's Odelay released by Beck in 1996.

Don says, "Now, this record immediately hit the spot when I first heard it back in the late nineties. It seamlessly mixed elements of garage rock, R'n'B, punk, bossa nova, folk, rap and country to produce one of the best albums of that decade. And how could i resist that dreadlocked dog on the cover? An absolute must-have.".
