Lauren Laverne talks to Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson about their stop-motion film Anomalisa.

Charlie Kaufman - the Oscar-winning writer responsible for Eternal Sunshine, Adaptation, and Being John Malkovich - talks to Lauren about his latest project, the stop-motion film Anomalisa. He is joined by his co-director, Duke Johnson, whose work with Adult Swim and the much-loved US TV series, Community, made him the ideal candidate to help realise Kaufman's first foray into animation.

Based around a motivational speaker struggling with the mundanity of his existence, Anomalisa sees Kaufman share directing duties with stop-motion specialist, Duke Johnson, for a characteristically left field love story. Working with just three voice actors, Kaufman adapted the story from his own radio play. The resulting film is hilarious, unsettling, and deeply unsettling - everything we've come to expect from one of the most idiosyncratic voices in modern cinema.
