Social media has become a major part of many of our lives in the modern era. You can't make it through a day without hearing 'did you see on Facebook...' or 'I read on Twitter', or seeing someone taking a selfie, no doubt to post on Instagram or Snapchat. We take a snapshot in time of this brave new world and explore who uses it and why.
Amongst those we meet are Naomi Buchanan, a 23-year-old self-confessed social media addict, and Scottish comedian and web developer Brian 'Limmy' Limond, who talks about how he entertains his 256.9k online followers. We also meet the team behind the Gaelic short film competition FilmG, who use Social Media to connect with their target audience.
Gaelic singer Cathy Ann MacPhee, originally from Barra but now living in Canada, finds that Facebook is now her easiest way to communicate with her family and friends back on the island, and Alana MacInnes, one of the girls behind the internet phenomenon #thedress, reflects on her whirlwind experience.
