Paul Gambaccini presents tracks from this week's US charts and hits from the last six decades.

Each week, songs are played connected to members of 'The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame'. We hear 'Rock And Roll Music' by Chuck Berry in honour of Johnnie Johnson, the piano player on the record, who was inducted in the sideman category. Continuing our alphabetical look at the list, we also hear 'Cross Road Blues' by early bluesman Robert Johnson. In 'A Matter Of Life And Death', we celebrate the birthday on this date in 1937 of Clarence 'Frogman' Henry by playing his hit 'But I Do'. Paul pays tribute to Sonny James, who has recently died, by featuring his recording of 'Young Love'. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'I Love You' by People and a different song with the same title by Faith Evans.

In the feature called 'Beyond The Sea', Paul plays a song from a UK artist's biggest-selling album in America. Tonight, we hear tracks from LPs by Peter & Gordon and The Alan Parsons Project. 'The Other Number Ones' are records that reached the top of the American chart in 'Cash Box' magazine, but not in the Hot 100 of the other US chart publication 'Billboard'. This week's examples are by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs and Eddy Grant.

Our R&B number ones are from 1956 and now by Ray Charles and Lalah Hathaway. We hear Country number ones from 1985 and this week by the versatile Ray Charles and Maren Morris. Our featured past and present Rock number ones are by Eric Clapton & His Band and Twenty One Pilots. The number one album is 'I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It' by The 1975. 'Piece By Piece' by Kelly Clarkson is the best-selling song of the week.
