Wind down the day with a unique mix of songs from the heart and songs from the head. Album of the week is Rory Faithfield's 'Southern Cross, Northern Skies'.
The Album of the Week is "Southern Cross, Northern Skies" the fifth and latest album from Australian singer/songwriter Rory Faithfield. Rory's musical journey began in the post-punk scene in Sydney. He then went walkabout for 20 years and spending much of that time living in Ireland, so it's no surprise that according to one reviewer he "inhabits the same rich musical world as Christy Moore, Luka Bloom and Glen Hansard. His songs are wistful, romantic, deeply felt and beautifully crafted". This week's lullabies come from Townes Van Zandt, Jimmy McCarthy, Buddy Mondlock, Gordon Lightfoot and Ian Foster.
