Bangor Castle
This week, we鈥檙e off to Bangor Castle in Co. Down - a grand Elizabethan-Jacobean style mansion, with 35 bedrooms.聽It is also surrounded by fantastic grounds - perhaps why it's one of Dot Blakelys favourite places to bird watch.
Tales of the Burren
South east(ish) of Newry and behind Warrenpoint 鈥 We鈥檙e off to visit the Burren. It鈥檚 a fairly remote place, high up the hill 鈥 where on a good day you can see both Cavehill and Dublin Bay. PJ Bradley is a Burren man through and through 鈥 so we鈥檝e sent Marie McStay down to find out all about his place.
For the love of the curlew
鈥淚 would walk 500 miles鈥, or so the Proclaimers once said. But for one Norfolk woman, that鈥檚 exactly how she will spend next week. Mary Colwell - whose mother was from Fermanagh 鈥 will set off next Thursday, walking from Enniskillen back to Norfolk, to raise awareness about Curlews.
Enniskillen's beacon
Hundreds of official birthday beacons will聽light up聽all over the UK next Thursday, to celebrate聽the Queen's 90th birthday, including Enniskillen. Royal Pageant Master Bruno Peek welcomed Enniskillen's birthday event as "the most westerly beacon in the United Kingdom".
Joyce's Place
Philadelphia, Bosnia, the Falklands, Israel, Antartica, the Arctic... and Portballantrae. Joyce Ferder Rankin has photographed them all. Her most recent pictures about the effects of climate change on wildlife are on display in Flowerfield Arts centre in Portstewart. But it was at her adopted home on the north coast, that she told Ronan Lundy why she's so passionate about nature.
Maghera's Tall Tales
We finish Your Place and Mine this week with tall tales from the Moy, the Sperrins, Derry, Donegal, the Glens and Maghera. Next Thursday and Friday, Maghera will host the towns first storytelling festival - organised by the local historical society.
