Farming Today This Week: Consumers and Farmers
Charlotte Smith visits the Organic Farm near Cirencester and investigates how the relationship between farmers and consumers is adapting to modern food production.
Charlotte Smith visits The Organic Farm near Cirencester, a 650 hectare enterprise which has at its heart the ethos of connecting the farm to the consumer through a farm shop, caf茅, farm walks and a number of other ways. Direct selling their own produce to the consumer offers a unique way to interact with the end user, allowing the provenance of their food to be easily seen literally out of the window. We also look at how food packaging, consumer influence and diversification to adapt to a new market is changing the relationship between farmer and consumer.
Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Andrew Dawes.
