Lauren Laverne has a session from Chicago-based septet Whitney, featuring ex-members of Smith-Westerns and UMO.

Chicago based septet Whitney bring their timeless US sound to 6 Music. Formed from the core of guitarist Max Kakacek (ex-Smith Westerns) and singing drummer Julien Ehrlich (ex-Unknown Mortal Orchestra) the band released debut album 'Light Upon The Lake' on Secretly Canadian on 3rd June. Featuring singles 'No Woman' and 'Golden Days', both of which were playlisted by 6 Music, we can't wait for the band to bring their sun drenched sound, trumpet and all, to the station.

We'll also be sharing another listeners Biorhythms, showcasing a Headphones Moment and putting more new music on our Just Added playlist.
