Rachel Felder

Stuart Maconie presents solo and is joined by New York journalist Rachel Felder, who talks about the Brooklyn scene.

Stuart presents solo, with guest, writer Rachel Felder. She's a journalist from New York who writes about travel, trends, and style for a wide range of publications such as the New York Times, the International New York Times and the Financial Times. She worked in the music industry for over a decade, doing A&R for Columbia Records and working with bands like Teenage Fanclub in the States. A lot of music has its roots in Brooklyn, so she's here to chat about the well-known New York borough on the show: how it became the hub of cool music, how it's changing, where the new pockets of aspiring bands are popping up. A street in Brooklyn is even named after her uncle, Doc Pomus, who happens to be one of Johnny Marr's favourite songwriters and grew up in the area.

And apart from that, YOU, the actual listener, will have the chance to be on the wireless by taking part in the never-ending Chain of conjoined records - or huddle round the office DAB speaker with your choice of afternoon beverage to gain victory in today's Teatime Themetime.
