Could rates be cut? Economist David Blanchflower, who was on the Monetary Policy Committee at the time of the last cut in 2009 looks ahead to the Bank of England decision today. Any cut would be first in more than seven years. The speculation is that a reduction from 0.5% to 0.25% is intended to boost the UK economy in the wake of the Brexit vote, but will it be taken today?
