For the first time festival goers are being offered the chance to have illegal drugs tested for strength and composition. Supporters say it is a public health issue but critics argue it encourages drug taking. Professor Fiona Measham founded The Loop 鈥� an organisation that carries out forensic testing of drugs at festivals.

Investigations are continuing after an explosion in the German city of Ansbach killed one and injured others. The Bavarian Interior Minister says the suicide bomber was a 20-year-old Syrian man who had been refused asylum in Germany but had been allowed to stay temporarily because of the war. There will be no blanket ban on Russian athletes at the Olympic Games next month. The IOC has been accused of failing to show leadership in the face of allegations of state sponsored doping by the Russians.
