Direct from the Siam Tent, Indian classical music mixed with Rajasthani desert folk from Desert Slide, featuring Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, a virtuoso of the Indian slide guitar; and live from the 大象传媒 Radio 3 Charlie Gillett Stage, Otava Yo from St. Petersburg, a band blending Russia's folk heritage with more than a hint of punk rock; and highlights from 大象传媒 Introducing band Amaraterra, Italian expats performing the ecstatic tarantella music of Southern Italy. Plus interviews and a visit to the Radio 3 Session Tent.
Radio 3 returns to WOMAD with more live broadcasting than ever before, with live sets and highlights from the main stages as well as the 大象传媒 Radio 3 Charlie Gillett Stage, where Radio 3 has invited artists from across the globe to perform, many making UK Festival debuts. The weekend includes a Sunday morning simulcast with Cerys on 6, artists from 大象传媒 Introducing, and video performances from the Radio 3 Session Tent.
