Mark Stephen and Helen Needham present a special programme from the Black Isle, recorded at the 179th Black Isle Show at Muir of Ord.

This week we bring you a special programme recorded at the Black Isle Show, the largest agricultural show held in the highlands.

Mark and Helen spent Thursday at the show ground in Muir of Ord and chatted to the some of the show committee including President, Andrew Cameron.

They also bump into Allan Bowie, Chairman of the NFUS and find out the latest from the farming community on Brexit.

Laura meets Martin Sherring and Anne Thomas from Transition Black Isle at their Community Garden near Culbokie.

The Scottish Simmental Cattle Club held their national show at the Black Isle. Mark and Helen chatted to Neil Shand, Chairman of the British Simmental Society about the breed.

They take a turn round the flower show as well as visiting the 'Feathers and Fur' marquee, home to an interesting range of poultry and giant rabbits.

Cromarty is world famous for being one of the best places to spot bottlenose dolphins. Laura Cuthill went out on a boat trip with Sarah from Ecoventures to try and spot some.

Mark finds out about Hugh Miller, Cromarty's most famous son and a hugely important geologist from Dr Alix Powers Jones from the National Trust for Scotland.

No agricultural show is complete without some vintage vehicles and heavy horses. Mark and Helen speak to steward Fraser Skinner and horse owner Kate Stephen.

Inverness is fast becoming a cycle friendly town. Helen went out on an ebike with Andrew McKay from Velocity Caf茅 and Bicycle Workshop to find out more.

And Mark takes a tour of family business, Cromarty Brewing Co. and chats to head brewer Craig and catches up with Jenny at their stand at the show to sample some of their new Berliner beer.
