While Rex and Toby are unloading feed, Rex gets a call from his dad - he has had a heart attack. Rex says the two of them are going to have to look after him while he recuperates. The brothers argue, with Toby proposing their dad can get paid help in. Rex says Toby is, once again, shirking responsibility. Toby insists he will stay in Ambridge and put their business first.

Emma arrives to look after Henry but Rob is getting him into the car. Rob pays her for babysitting anyway, saying she has probably spent it already. In the car, Rob tells Henry they are dropping in on an old friend. Henry grows restless as they wait for Rob's friend to appear. Then, Rob spots her and they get out of the car. Rob approaches Jess, acting surprised that he has seen her. She has Ethan with her and Rob asks if he gets his blue eyes from his father. Rob says to Jess he had heard she was pleased to wipe the slate clean. Let's hope it stays that way, he says.

Jill is putting out the washing when Rex appears. He tells her that Toby will be the main contact at Hollowtree for a while as he is going away to look after his dad. All of Rex's frustration with Toby pours out to Jill - he calls him an idle, conceited, unscrupulous leech.
