Police Officer Care

Police Officer Care

It's the story that has dominated the news agenda all week - the pressures many of our police officers are under.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

It started with a tweet from PSNI Chief Constable George Hamilton when he told an officer "Dry your eyes, do the job or move on!" if they couldn't cope with the job.

After a backlash he apologised, and this week on this programme we have heard from the Police Federation as well as many, many current and former police officers who shared their personal stories of the effects the demanding job has had on their mental health, and in particular PTSD.

Deputy Chief Constable Drew Harris was in studio to discuss聽officer mental health care.
