One of the longest-serving and most prominent leaders of so-called Islamic State (IS) has been killed in Syria, IS-affiliated media say. Plus, the news in Australia.

The Islamic State militant group has announced that one of its senior commanders - its spokesman, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani - has been killed in Syria. US singer Chris Brown is arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman tells police he threatened her with a gun. Apple is ordered to pay 13 billion euros (about 11 billion pounds) in back taxes to Ireland after the European Commission ruled the company's arrangements in the country illegal. The Pacific island nation of Tonga gets its first skateboard ramp.
