Mary Anne Hobbs sits in with a live session from the Oregon-based artist, M. Ward.

M. Ward's latest record 'More Rain' dropped in March 2016, following on from his 2014 release 'A Wasteland Companion'. He says that the songs were written to be enjoyed on a rainy day, but don't let that put you off!

Ward has several great solo albums under his belt, as well as five LPs with Zooey Deschanel as She & Him, and a collaborative album with My Morning Jacket's Jim James and Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis under the moniker Monsters of Folk.

He is also an accomplished producer, working with musicians including Jenny Lewis, Mavis Staples, and Carlos Forster. Also on the show, we have The People's Playlist!
