Kate Tempest

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are joined by poet Kate Tempest.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie: the twinkly and rough-hewn of digital radio, broadcasting aural diamonds for your delectation all afternoon. Their guest today is poet, spoken word artist and playwright Kate Tempest. Brought up in Brockley, South-East London, she says she had a 'wayward youth' but was encouraged by her English teacher who gave her books to inspire her. She studied at the BRIT School and then Goldsmiths University of London. Since then she's won the Ted Hughes Award for her work Brand New Ancients and was selected as one of the Next Generation Poets by the Poetry Society in 2014. She's here to talk about her new album, Let Them Eat Chaos.

With The Chain and Teatime Themetime for huddle-round-the-wireless good clean family fun.
