More about the programme:
Roy Jenkins’ guest this week is the Welshman who has this year taken over the top job in a denomination at the livelier end of church life in this country.
The Rev'd Chris Cartwright is the new General Superintendent of the Elim Pentecostal Church, founded a century ago by the revivalist preacher from Maesteg George Jeffreys, and now linking 550 congregations across Britain and Ireland. It’s part of the fastest growing movement within worldwide Christianity.
Chris, inspired by his parents who, though devastated at the loss of their first child, lived a life of dedication to ministry, shares the ups and downs of his own spiritual journey – turning away from an academic career in the USA to finding a new understanding of his relationship with God in the renowned Kensington Temple in London under the leadership of Wynne Lewis.
