Schoenberg: Gurrelieder

Schoenberg's epic cantata sets a legendary love-tale to music which begins in the lush pastures of 19th century Wagnerianism, and ends with a foreshadowing of the modernist musical landscape to come. This performance is the closing concert of the 2016 Edinburgh International Festival and also marks the final performance of Donald Runnicles as chief conductor of the 大象传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
