The American composer Steve Reich will be celebrating his 80th birthday next week. As he prepares to attend a series of events around the UK to mark his eight decades, the influential pioneer of minimal music looks back over his career, including his compositions It's Gonna Rain, Drumming, Clapping Music, and Different Trains.

Steve Reich's Runner premiere
The 听 is creating a new one-act听work to be performed at the听world premiere of Steve Reich's composition Runner, to mark both Reich's 80th and Wayne McGregor's 10th anniversary as Resident Choreographer. From 10 - 19 November at the Royal Opera House, London.
