#6Music1979

Steve has a Classic Album of the Day interview with The Clash and for the final hour spins an all-vinyl Free for All, featuring music from his record collection in 1979.

As 6 Music rewinds the clock to the 14th October 1979, Steve digs in the crates to spin some favourite tunes on his wheels of steel.

His selections include some Skids, Generation X, Vapors, Psychedelic Furs, Jean Michel Jarre, Errol Dunkley, The Immortals, Peaches & Herb and Kirsty Macoll.

Plus, we dig an interview with The Clash's Mick Jones and Paul Simonon out of the archives. In it, the pair remember writing, rehearsing and recording London Calling, which was released in the UK on the 14th December 1979.
